Flipped for Christ

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬  “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

We has a quality distribution, but not a quantity distribution on Saturday. It was only my wife & I, plus Pastor Joseph and his wife to help that day for our weekly Saturate USA evangelism outreach program of hanging door-hangers with a Gospel Tract, the Jesus Movie on DVD and an invitation to our churches, so we drove to the other half of the same sector that we worked last week to try to get into a couple apartment buildings that we hadn’t visited yet.

We were let in and completed the first 80 unit apartment complex, then moved to the two (51 unit) buildings next door. We were let in and completed the first building. But, we could not find someone to let us into the second building.

We were going move across Lincoln Ave, to start distributing the door hangers to the houses on that side, when an older gentleman opened his sliding glass rear door and accessed us of harassing the residents with religion. I asked him why he believe that, because I wanted to understand his viewpoint.

Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

For the next 30 minutes plus, we discussed the culture, the declining moral state of the country and religion, coming to an agreement that the people need to get their heart "right" in moral, ethics and integrity. We left with him saying that what we were doing was good and that the church did need to go out and reach the residents of our community for the common good. An Amazing experience. Pastor Joseph said “This whole day was about the Divine Appointment with this man.”

Matthew 18:12-14 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.”

I visited him again the following week and talked, like old friends. What a blessing! To God be the glory. In Christ, Brian
