In The Beginning

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

In the beginning of 2021, we build on the future by starting on a solid and firm foundation. That starts with knowing that Almighty (All-knowing, All-seeing, All-powerful) God was the Creator of the Cosmos, maintains His creation and is in eternal control . The 1828 Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “creature” as: that which is created; every being besides the Creator, or every thing not self-existent. The sun, moon and stars; the earth, animals, plants, light, darkness, air, water, & time are the creatures of God. The word “science” means “knowledge”. The field of Science was established by Christians for the knowledge of God’s creation.

Romans 1:18-21 tells us, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Those in denial of their Maker and blindly walk in darkness defiantly disagree. They are sincerely wrong and sadly have nothing to build their life upon. The true facts clearly point to “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.

John 1:1-5 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

We continue to build on the future by constructing our life on a solid and firm foundation of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 points out that that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” andRomans 6:23a explains that “the wages of sin is death.” Ephesians 2:1b-3 confirms that we are “dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.”

Ephesians 2:1, 4-8 “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins. God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Romans 6:23b confirms that “the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

By the atoning sacrificial death on the Cross in our place by Jesus Christ (the Word, the Son of God) to those who repent and accept God’s gift as Savior and Lord. Guilt of sin is paid for and gone. As a child of God, we obediently walk in the Spirit, willingly aligned with the Lord’s holy Word, Will and Way, confidently building our life on that foundation. In that blessed assurance, we understand John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Let’s begin this year 2021 on these two rock-solid truths and build our future forward.

In Christ, Brian
