Cancel-Proof – Part 2

Pastor Kyle continues that shortly after rising from the dead after three days in the grave and ascending to sit at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to indwell every Believer to guide them in ways of righteousness. That means that God’s Spirit does not come and go, He is always in us, with us, helping us. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 asks, “do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God. The Holy Spirit is a down-payment from the Lord on our salvation.

Romans 5:19-21 says, “For as by the one man's disobedience [Adam} the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience [Jesus] the many will be made righteous.

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Knowing that the Spirit of God is in us is never ever a license to do whatever we want. Quite the opposite is true, as the holy Scriptures tell us that we were bought for a price, so we are to honor God with our bodies. There is actually a greater accountability upon us to live rightly in the eyes of God because we bear the Spirit of God inside us. Because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit within us, it is all-the-more important to get our own spiritual house in order first.

In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for great disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands. They were broken in pieces. Does that sound a lot like 2020 to you?  Asa put away the detestable idols and stopped the sinful lifestyle of that time. Then, he rebuilt the alter of the Lord. Whenever we tear something down in our lives that is “wrong” in the eyes of God, it is important to fill that space with something that is good and right or else that void will create a vacuum which can be filled by something possibly worse. Asa then gathered the people to worship, pray and sacrifice, making a covalent with God to seek the Lord with all their heart life; recommitting their lives to God. Asa perso0nally put away every area is disobedience within his life and family.

We can focus on our own spiritual disciple and prayer this year also. By not doing so, we experience a lot less peace than God would desire us to have. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Peace is a promise for every Believer, but to get the peace of God, we must go to God and receive it. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. I encourage you to make some good spiritual discipline decision for your life in 2021. Let’s all commit in our hearts to put the Lord God first in our lives. Refocus and make tangible commitment around spiritual disciplines and prayer for your life this year. A clear and organized mind is vital for a clean and productive life. No one can cancel that.

Continue to improve communication. Go to God for what other people cannot give to us. It is exactly where Asa started when the prophecy of Azariah was proclaimed. Keep relying of God when circumstances say, “rely on yourself’. But the high places were not taken out of Israel. Judah removed their idol, but Israel keep the “high places” of worship of other gods.

Exodus 20:2-6 commands, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

Let's conclude Pastor Kyle message on "cancel-proofing" our life 9in the next post.

In Christ, Brian
