1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
Decades ago, I attended another church where the president of the church counsel (a married man) secretly started having sexual relations with a single woman in the church choir, then openly dumped his wife and moved in with his mistress, stating that Jesus died for his sins and he could do whatever his heart desired, as he continued to attend church weekly as the congregation’s president with no conviction. The pastor’s biblical reasoning fell upon deaf ears. This man’s imagination, based upon his sinful sexual desires, created an imaginary, all-forgiving Jesus to fit his lifestyle; a self-made distraction and perversion from the truth to suit his depravity. Blaise Pascal stated, “Distraction is the only thing that consoles us for our miseries, and yet it is itself the greatest of our miseries”; the misery of sinning against a sovereign, just and holy God.
Romans 1:18-25 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.”
Lately, I found out that the wife of a faithful church-going family member was exposed as perverting both the church and the family in multiple adulterous sexual extra-marital affairs that led to a pregnancy and child. The wife plans to continue in the marriage, the church and the adulterous extra-marital affairs as "normal, natural and healthy" with no conviction of sin or remorse within the new cultural standards of morality that are to be accepted by both husband and church because an all-forgiving Jesus Christ died for her sins. This is a total perversion from what is “right” in the eyes of God, and reinterpreted to what is wanted to be “right” in her own depraved heart ... a god that is Savior, but not Lord.
In the godless Communist’s 45 goals to internally destroy the United States, published in 1958, goals number 25-27 are (25) Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV. (26) Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural and healthy." (27) Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, [personal feelings & interpersonal relationships], which does not need a "religious crutch." In his Farewell Address in 1796, President George Washington put his finger on the importance of religion and biblical morality within a society: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness-these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens.”
Destroy biblical morality (the fixed point and moral compass of God) and you destroy the civil society and nation. Let’s not let that happen.
Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” “In God we Trust” is the American National Motto, but “In God We Obey” is the real test of our faith and the rock-solid foundation on which we stand or fall. Stand.
