Closet Christians – Part 4

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal [physical, in the flesh] but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

If every Child of God in this country [and around the world] will be obedience to their Christian calling and not hide in the closet, then we can put down all of these deceptive negative conspiracy theories against godliness, revival this country and return this nation back to “One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all”. The people of God need to stand up for their faith. We cannot believe the false propaganda and indoctrination in politics and media which seek to redefine and legalize sin and criminalize biblical morality. But, God is in control, so if His children go down, they go up in glory. In John 8:31-32, Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Sin enslaves and kills, and the God-rejecting world stands condemned already by the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth. In John 10:10 Jesus tells us, “The thief [Satan] comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Don’t walk in fear. Cling to the Good Shepherd and build your house on the Rock – Jesus.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 “If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.”

What do we value as important in our lives? If we are going to be evaluated on what we have accomplished and acquired in life, then what is critical, essential and vital to us? We need to let people know whose we are and who we are in Christ. If all else fails, use words. The moment that we first believed, we were sealed with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13-14 tells us, “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” Rejoicefully, repentant and believing sinners are forgiven and saved. Sadly, Unrepentant and unbelieving sinners are objects of Gods wrath and condemned to eternal damnation. Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

Let's conclude Pastor Herk's message on "Closet Christians" in the next post.

In Christ, Brian
