Closet Christians – Part 5

Continuing Pastor Herk's message: Hidden Christians need to come out of the closet in our culture and submit fully to Christ and allowing the indwelling Holy Spirit to lead us and work within us then God’s people would affect society with godly light in balanced holiness. Trust in God and come out of the closet in which sin and unbelief has thrown the people of God and run into the darkness with God’s holy light for all to see. Nobody is born a Christian and God has no grandchildren. Walking into a church makes you a Christian as much as walking into a garage makes you a car. Romans 3:22-24 explains, “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” So, you must be born-again by faith, transformed by the Holy Spirit. Receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

1 John 5:11-13 “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may

continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”

Does God change? No. Does the Word of God change? No. Hebrews 13:8 days, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” God’s truth does not change. Secular society changes and many people change along with the morals of the current culture, caving in to avoid confrontation and remain comfortable, but the church is set-apart by God for God’s purposes. Today, many churches are becoming more like the secular world, instead of the world becoming more like the church. The citizen of Heaven cannot put their faith in the closet and acclimate to world system void of God’s sovereign reign and rule. If you are truly saved, then come out of the closet and stand for Christ. If all of your gig is avoiding the “dirty dozen” of sins, building interpersonal relationships and wearing the “right” clothes while singing to the “right” music, then you may still be “lost”. Our vertical relationship with God through Christ is central focus.

Ephesians 4:10-16 “He [Jesus] who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

Let God be God. By His power bring forth good fruit. In Matthew 13, Jesus explained that tares [the ungodly] would be sown by the enemy and grow together in this world with the wheat [the godly] and separated at harvest of the souls on Judgment Day, so there is a great need for spiritual discernment in our faith. God’s Word does not change. What does God want you to do today? Come out of the closet and let God use you. He is still performing miracles. Be obedient and follow the Lord. Let Him guide you into the truth.

In Christ, Brian
