Hebrews 12:1-2 “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Continuing Pastor Herk’s message: We have the cure for spiritual cancer. Be watchful, examining ourselves while picking up our Cross and following Christ daily, and be watchful in your brethren, society, nation and world culture for the kingdom of God. We all need a check-up for symptoms of spiritual cancer in our lives, because compromises of godliness and poor choices of unholy sin lead to more compromises and poor choices. Look out for a decreasing desire be in the fellowship of Believers and attend church Worship and functions, decreasing desire to read God’s holy Word [the Bible] in devotion or study the Sacred Scriptures with spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ. John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Sanctify is defined as: To separate, set apart or appoint to a holy, sacred or religious use. To be separated, ordained and appointed to the work of redemption and the government of the church. To purify; to prepare for divine service, and for partaking of holy things. To cleanse from corruption; to purify from sin; to make holy be detaching the affections from the world and its defilements, and exalting them to a supreme love to God. It becomes harder and harder to discern between good and evil, when we are not regularly in God’s Word of the living Bible; what is true and what is a lie that the devil is throwing at us. We see this division of right and wrong clearly in the world today.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
We become more susceptible to caving into sin when we are not in the Holy Word of God. Be on the lookout and do not relax your guard! Blindly following the godless indoctrination of the godless secular teachings in tolerance of immorality and abandoning the teachings of God’s commandments, His statutes, and His moral law can emotionally cause people to try against the pastors, priests, clergy, leaders and teachers in the Christian church.
In the area of share the miracle cure for spiritual cancer, one definition of healing is the restoration of body, mind and/or spirit for a state of wholeness and wellbeing. Physically for body, mentally for the soul or spiritually through repentance and acceptance of Christ as Savior and Lord for the regeneration of the spirit, unto transformation of the heart, forgiveness of sin, justification before God and eternal life. Where does the healing come from? It comes from Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. Jesus secured the ultimate miracle healing by going to the Cross in your and my place in the atoning sacrifice for our sin. The Apostle Peter said in Acts 2:38 “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
People going in the wrong direction, on the wide road to destruction, are told to turn around and go, by way of the narrow gate, towards God on the path of righteousness and be baptized into Christ’s death to sin, coming to and trust in Jesus, and into His resurrection unto true life, now and eternal. Trust in God. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God that washes away the sin of the world. Romans 6:1-14 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of
His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Every Christian has the miracle cure for spiritual cancer.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. As disciples of Christ, under the Great Commission of Jesus to go and make disciples of all nations; to share your story of redemptive restoration with God and share the miracle cure for spiritual cancer for the remission of sin by grace through faith, forgiveness by Christ’s atoning sacrifice for our sin and receive God’s eternal salvation. That’s the Gospel; the miracle cure for spiritual cancer.
