Ephesians 4:22-27 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life [the fallen sin nature prior to being born again], to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds [mentally and spiritually]; and to put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood [whether lying, defrauding, telling half-truths, or spreading malicious rumors] and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body [Christ]. “In your anger [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold [ his foot in the door of your life].” [emphasis mine]
My Small Group Bible Study on Wednesday nights is watching a video series by Christian Apologist Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis titled “Foundations”. In our lesson this last week, he pointed out how “the evil one” and his followers attack the authority of God by maliciously setting their sights on destroying the Word of God in the Holy Scriptures of the Bible, and especially on the creation account of the heavens, the earth and all life. Why? No Creator God means no accountability to God for sinful lifestyles and no penalty for wicked evil thoughts, words and actions [in their minds]. The tactic is to get people of God to compromise the Word of God, doubt the Moral Law of God, desensitize society of sin, redefine righteousness and thereby fear man, not God.
The thought of an all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful and ever-present sovereign Spirit being who is loving, holy and just that made all, sustains all and is Lord of all is unacceptable to those in rebellion against Him and walk in darkness. So, they make up lies, falsify science and say that God does not exist in unbelief. That is blasphemy [any and all indignity or injury offered to God, by words or writing; reproachful, contemptuous or irreverent words uttered impiously against Jehovah, or by denying that which is due and belonging to him, or attributing to him that which is not agreeable to His nature] and there is hell to pay for that. In John 8:42-44Jesus said, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” Macro-Evolution is a fairy tale.
Romans 1:18-20 says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” All the major branches of Science were established by Bible-believing Christians, who believed the Creation account of origins and whose intent was to prove God’s handiwork in creation. Today’s Creation Scientist from the likes of the Institute of Creation Research (ICR), the Creation Science Institute (CSI) and many others continue their research and reveal the facts in of [so called] Special Creation by Intelligent Design. The fingerprint of Almighty God are everywhere.
In 2 Corinthians 11:3 the Apostle Paul expresses: “I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” The devil is subtle in his deception of mankind, casing doubt in God’s Word and corrupting faith and belief. The guns of the enemy are targeting the creation account with the intent to destroy belief in God because the lost sinners think that if they can convince the public that the Bible is wrong on the very first verse of the first chapter of the first book, then what can you believe in the rest? The evil goal is to eliminate biblical authority in our culture.
The theory of Evolution by natural causes requires minor changes over millions of unobservable years, so atheist dispute the age of the earth and claim that life began from non-life, which cannot and will never happen naturally. God spoke the universe, the earth and all life into existence as the Almighty. Jehovah Jirah [God will provide]. Believe our infinite and eternal God, not finite, temporal and flawed man about creation, about Genesis, hold the holy Word of God and one hand and don’t allow the devil to get a foothold. As Ephesians 6:11 tells us, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
