Faith Identity

Last Sunday, Pastor Kyle Sermon preached on live issues facing the Christian faith in today’s increasingly secular, humanistic society. A large reason for the decline of faith in God and the principles of Christianity towards true life here  right now and in life eternal in Heaven is the absence and failure of the Christian community to engage society with righteousness, to seek those who do not know the Lord, and share the gospel of salvation which brings life for the advancement of the Kingdom (not enough disciples making disciples that make disciples.

America was founded as a Christian nation based upon the Word of God and it’s associated Commandments, Moral Laws, biblical principles, and teachings unto the conversion of the soul and transformation of the heart to the way, the truth, and the life found only in Jesus Christ - the Light of the world. The result of accepting God’s gracious gift of Salvation through belief in Christ, repentance of Sin and following the Lord is reconciliation, redemption, transformation, adoption, citizenship, eternal life and the indwelling Holy Spirit now; all by saving faith!

You live by what you know, and by what you are taught (by trial and error, by the word of others, or what you are taught). There have been many times that I thought that I was doing right, but found out later that I had misinformation or deceived. They were sincere beliefs, but they were sincerely wrong.

Sanctify us in Thy truth, Thy Word is truth.

Not held in check, the darkness of Sin and Unbelief naturally advance blasphemy against God, promote immorality, cheapen life, create inequity and injustices because they have no objective standards and therefore no objective truth (a law unto themselves and their feelings). Who are they trusting and obeying? Are they living the life or living a lie? Most importantly: What is their end?

Pastor Kyle concluded by quoting the Christian Philosopher and mathematician Blaise Pascal’s famous Wager. Logically, If you believe in God and there really is no God, then in the end you have lose nothing. If you do not believe in God and there really is no God, then you also lose nothing. But, if you do not believe in God and there really is a God, then you suffer eternal loss. And, if you believe in God and there really is a God, then you gain eternal life and joy. Make your eternal choice wisely.

In Christ we live, in God we trust.
