Dangerous Prayers – Part 4

The fifth dangerous prayer is “Use me”. Are you willing to make yourself available to God? For God to fully use us, we need to go through that process of searching, breaking, stretching and leading. In order to be used by God, we need to humble ourselves and surrender to His call on our life, because He is going to use us according to His holy and perfect Will. God is the Potter and we are the cray to be molded into useful godly vessels. God says, “Can I not do with you, My people, as this potter does?” In order for God to use us, we must allow God to shape us, mold us and take out every imperfection and flaw within us. We were created by God for His use and to bring Him glory. Look what the Creator, Potter, Master artist made! In everything that we do, we are to do it for His glory; nothing for His shame. Are you willing to allow God to use you?

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

If you are willing to be used by God, then you have to realize that you are required to be involved and you must be committed to Him and His kingdom. Are you willing to be led by the Holy Spirit in the “good works” of God’s kingdom? Pray that God is our focus and that Jesus Christ is our solid foundation to stand upon and the center of our lives. Are we willing to be more than just a hearer of the Word of God, but we are “doers” of the Word in faithful and purposeful action? Truly being used by God is more than just going through the motions, checking off Christian “things to do today” on a list, and going to church on Sunday; that is the easy part. It’s learning and learning how to put our faith into action for the other six days of the week for God’s use.

Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Being used by God request a willingness to take our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ out beyond the four walls of the church and into the community, society and culture. There is a mission field out there in this lost and dying in sin world. It is dangerously stretching beyond our comfort zone, but people are in dire need of rescue. God wants us putting the things of God into action and to take the gospel to hospitals, to the homeless, to prisons, to the workplace, to schools, to the government and certainly to our families and friends.

Being used by God requires being there for people and caringly talking to them as a godly trusted confidant. Are you willing to pray with them? Take every opportunity you have to tell others about the God’s plan of Salvation unto forgiveness and eternal life, and about the Savior of the world from sin, death and eternal damnation, who died for them, if they repent, believe by saving faith and let Him into their heart as Lord of their life. Yes, being used by God may require you to point out and speak to someone about their sin and the cure for it through real repentance [true sorrow or deep contrition for sin, as an offense and dishonor to God, a violation of his holy law, and the basest ingratitude towards a Being of infinite benevolence]. This is evangelical repentance is accompanied and followed by amendment of life from ungodly lawlessness to godly obedience and holiness. Repentance is a change of heart and mind; a conversion from sin to God. Are you willing to be used by God?

When you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, what you are saying is that you are not just going to be a Believer, but you are obediently going to be a dedicated follower and devoted student [a disciple] of Jesus Christ because it is the desire of your transformed heart and you are willing to be used by God wherever He calls you to go, to do whatever He calls you to do for the good works of the kingdom of Heaven.

Are you willing to pray dangerous prayers?

In Christ, Brian
