Jesus said in Acts
1:8, “you will receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My
witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even
to the remotest part of the earth.”
Continuing Pastor Kyle’s
message on John the Baptist’s witness of Jesus Christ, he spoke of three things
that God gives every Believer to reach their friends, family and neighbors
within their sphere of influence. First, God has given us a life, a voice and a
platform to pave the road for focus on the gospel message and truth by using
our God-given gifts, talents and experiences to speak for faith. Our lives
should scream: “Jesus loves you and God has a plan for you”, but our words
should back that up. Don’t shy away from telling others who Jesus was and is – the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of
the world. Live your life to proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in
all that you do, but also let your words point people to meet Him at the foot
of the Cross.
Philippians 2:3-4 Do
nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of
mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do
not merely
look out for your own personal interests, but also
for the interests of others.
The second thing that God
gives every Believer to reach their friends, family and neighbors within their
sphere of influence is as much influence as we are willing to invest in others.
You cannot control what people do or how they respond, but you can control how
much you are willing to love on people and invest in them. Imagine what God
could do when you invest in a few. The third thing that God gives every
Believer to reach their friends, family and neighbors within their sphere of
influence is the ability to pray for others with the power of the Holy Spirit. There
is power in prayer. The impact of power is amazing, so pray for others. Don’t
think that you don’t have the “right” words, because the Holy Spirit will give
you the words. You have the power to turn the world upside down for the Lord. We
may be anticlimactic witness for the Lord, but in our weakness, we are strong.
Be willing to be willing ad let the Lord use you all the days of your life.
Ephesians 3:14-21 “For
this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every
family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you,
according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power
through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in
your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted
and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all
the saints what is the breadth and length and height and
depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him
who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or
think, according to the power that works within us, to
Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all
generations forever and ever. Amen.”
