A Life of Integrity - Part 2

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”

Pastor Obie continues his message by stating that in living a life of integrity, we need to make clear goals and set clear boundaries. Different sin require different boundaries. Practicing integrity with a understandable goal to be faithful to the Lord keeps us focused to the commitment. Bit, guard your inner being. Resist the God-rejecting world system, the sinful flesh desires and the devil. Avoid being alone with a temptation; run away if necessary. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” Having to live with the sinful nature of the flesh desires on this side of eternity, without support and isolation, we are not as strong. Ecclesiastes 4:12 explains that “though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” We are stronger and better equipped together with other Christians. Do not get trapped. If you do get cornered, God shall provide an escape route, but we will have to make the dramatic decision to flee.

Genesis 39:2-4 ”The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.”

Living a life of integrity is living a life of blessing. God was with Joseph in whatever we did. We are blessed because God is with us, when we are people of integrity. God care more about our character than our circumstances. Know that God is preparing us for where He wants us to be in the future. Life is a pathway which is made and laid by the Lord Almighty for our journey to eternity in Heaven. Knowing this fact, lift up others by being directly helpful; not tearing down. Look for “good’ and encourage others; never seek to be hurtful. Sing the praises of your fellow man and be the godly person that others say that we need more of today in the world. Live a life of integrity.

 In Christ, Brian
