The Supreme Being: God

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

The word “God” is defined in the 1828 Webster’s dictionary as: The Supreme Being; Jehovah; the eternal and infinite Spirit, the Creator, and the Sovereign of the universe. The All-knowing, Almighty Creator of the Cosmos is the self-existent, ever-present Sustainer of everything and all. Can we truly wrap our minds around our Heavenly Father? Can the finite comprehend the infinite?

Isaiah 55:8-11 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, and My thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

I think about all the things that there are that could be learn and known, then catch a glimpse and realize (1) that there is so much more to learn than there is time to learn it and (2) God not only knows it all, but crated it all. So, in a world that rebels and rejects the living God (father, Son and Holy Spirit) and His faithfully believing student/follower children, there truly is no man-made weapons of war necessary; for though the God-rejecting world system may attack, these assaults are but nothing to the Supreme Being; Jehovah; the eternal and infinite Spirit, the Creator, and the Sovereign of the universe.

May the gospel of Jesus Christ be preached and heard, the Word of God be read and applied to life by all, and may the love and grace of awesome God reign on earth as it is in the kingdom of Heaven.

In Christ, Brian
