God’s Part

Genesis 1:31 “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

Pastor Willie continued that  it in the beginning, God made a perfect world that was very good; that was no sin or death. When our original parents (Adam & Eve) believed the devil, doubted God and disobeyed Him, sin entered and creation was corrupted. But, through God’s grace, He mercifully sent His Son Jesus as a Savior to all who believe in God, believe that you have sinned against His sovereign just and holy commandments, statues and Laws, repent of your inequity, believe that He sent Jesus to pay the penalty for sin by atoning for them by His innocent blood, your sins are therefore forgiven and you as a redeemed born-again Believer, are reconciled with God. You are justified by grace, though faith, adopted into the family of God, and a citizen of Heaven.

John 14:23-24 Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. In loving and obeying the Lord, the indwelling Holy Spirit of the Believer is working within their heart, counseling them, leading them, reminding them, interpreting Scripture and revealing God’s will for their life on their daily walk in this life. But, we have out part too. We need to be actively learning the ways of God and maturing as Christians. The Holy Spirit transforms our heart and speaks to us in our own language, that we may learn and know the right and full message of the gospel of Salvation to share and proclaim, because disciples make disciples as Jesus Commissioned His followers.

Habakkuk 1:13 “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness.” Sin is wicked and separates us from God. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins with contrition (sorrowful regret, apologetic shame, and repentant penitence) that cuts us to the heart and drives us to the foot of the Cross for redemption, justification and forgiveness by the Lord to walk in the Spirit.  Jesus Christ was crucified for sins according to God’s Plan for Salvation prophesied in Holy Scripture. There are no coincidences; God is purposefully working out that over-arching Plan daily. Jesus Christ died for all Believer’s sins (past, present and future), rose from the dead and alive, seated at the right hand of God intervening on our behalf and preparing a dwelling place for us when He comes to get us shortly unto eternal life in Heaven.

Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” The Word of God shall not return void. Jesus Christ is the Word made manifest, which changes us inwardly in thoughts and outwardly in words and action. This conversion by the spiritual sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit leads to walking each day in the process of sanctification, growing into the likeness of Christ. God has done His part gloriously; expect and be ready to respond.

In Christ, Brian
