Drama – Part 2

1 Timothy 6:11-16 “But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.”

Pastor Kyle continued by giving us some practical things to do when life doesn’t go our way. (1) Continue practicing forgiveness. Sure, there are times when we will feel “jipped”, but the greater good is that everyone benefits when forgiveness is exercised. Forgiveness is the only way to end a war. (2) Sometimes, a cooling off period is needed. Time does not always heal, but it does reduce the heat. At the beginning, step back and say a quick prayer, then when it is over, step back and let the dust settle. (3) Keep praying about the situation and for the other person. When way pray only for the situation, it has a tendency to keep the fire burning by rerunning it in our mind, so change to praying for the other person.

Psalm 37:7-9 “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.”

Get ahead in life, God’s way. It may feel like crawling. But, a few steps behind the world’s system just might be God’s way and slowing down may be the “right’ way and actually get us ahead in the long run. Don’t make the last place that you fall, be on your knees. God’s way is the way to humbly get ahead.

1 Peter 5:6-7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

In Christ, Brian
