Mother

Tulips fields are seen on April 23, 2022 in Noordwijk, Netherlands. From mid-March to mid-May, part of Holland turns into a great sea of flowers....

Leviticus 19:3 “Every one of you shall revere his mother.”

Every person on earth has a mother. God created family by the act or process of begetting offspring in pro-creation. In doing so, our Maker designed and instilled the natural love and nurture of a mother for her child, a bond like no other. Children are cared for, provided for, protected, trained and defended by this great parent and matriarch of mankind sacrificing and laboring countless hours and years to rise them to healthy, learned, godly, moral, wise and productive adults.

Psalm 139:13-14 “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

The encyclopedia Britannica documents that Mother’s Day,  holiday in honor of mothers that is celebrated in countries throughout the world. In its modern form the holiday originated in the United States, where it is observed on the second Sunday in May.

Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, whose mother had organized women’s groups to promote friendship and health, originated Mother’s Day. On May 12, 1907, she held a memorial service at her late mother’s church in Grafton, West Virginia. Within five years virtually every state was observing the day, and in 1914 U.S. Pres. Woodrow Wilson made it a national holiday.

Proverbs 23:25 “Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her who bore you rejoice.”

This Sunday, honor your mother. Give her the love that she deserves.

In Christ, Brian
