Rescue

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

Successfully drove up to Oakhurst, California and rescued my 95 1/2 year old father. Over five feet of snow fell at his Bass Lake, California home in a series of extreme winter storms that blocked all access. He has been snowed-in his house for a week before Good Samaritans brought gas and provisions to him via snow vehicles.

His fellow snowed-in neighbors rallied around him to ensure his safety and well-being as both water and commercial power lines were out of service. His gas generator broke down and with the help of a private snowplow, his Caregiver was able to drive up and relocate him to a hotel in the town of Oakhurst, where I drove up and brought him down to my house until the utilities were back up and running, so normal, routine mountain life could resume.

I barely made it into the town of Oakhurst before the Highway 41 access road was closed to vehicles without chains on the wheels or four-wheel drive. He is safe and sound now. Click the link below and see the ABC News report on his rescue.

Praise the Lord for good hearted people lending a helping hand as good neighbors.

In Christ, Brian
