The Posture of Power

Ephesians 3:14-21 “ For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be
glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

This last Sunday, in Pastor Kyle’s sermon message, he stated that we can handle more than we think because God is the source of power and love. He exclaimed that everyone, as children of God, has 100% equal access to the true source of power. The secret is that we have to go down in order to go up; meaning that we must take a low posture, so that God can bless us. 1 Peter 5:6 says to, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.”

What is the chief end of mankind? Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever. This is the foundational truth of “Glory be to Go” is what we build our life upon. John 3:30 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” This means physically and spiritually towards our Lord God Almighty. It is a prostration of our heart towards Father God in humility. In this secular naturalistic culture, it takes faith to believe. God wants to lift us up, so we need to cultivate a continuous stature of a submissive low posture in obedience and praying without ceasing in adoration of His loving providence.

Philippians 2:5-11 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who,
Being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

A low posture has balance in length, width, height and depth for strength, power, and stability. Knocking yourself down is never honoring anything, but a low posture with the Lord is not low self-esteem because in God’s hand we stand on a solid foundation. That is why the Christian blesses, serves and gives with no string attached. We need to use everything we have to help others.

The bottom line is that if you do not live a life with God as Lord to be glorified, then you are cheating yourself of the height to which you can elevate your life. We all have hopes, dreams, and aspirations; God has more for us.

In Christ, Brian
