This week Michael writes
that we are in the midst of a moral and spiritual landslide.
Research has
shown that all civilizations collapse in the same way. Great empires never die
a sudden death at the hand of a foreign power. According to Abraham Lincoln, “our United States will not in a trial of
a thousand years be defeated by an invading alien army. If destruction be
our lot, we will fall from within.” If America collapses, America
will fall from her own demise. Isaiah 5 says woe unto them who call evil good and good evil. The sign of this
nation's demise is when biblical virtues that used to be revered as “good” and “righteous”
become despised and are considered no longer applicable. The people substitute evil
darkness for godly light. When they are
clever in their own sight and justify the wicked for a bribe. The new
"tolerance" says we can tolerate you only if you agree with me. My
way or the highway philosophy that says, we can tolerate anyone except those
who stand for the truth of the Word of God.
John 3:19-20 “And
this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were
evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come
to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”
The times today are similar
to the times of Nazi Germany. The German church compromised and became
lukewarm. They acquiesced to get along with the evil around them. However,
you can't compromise with evil because light and darkness cannot coexist by
definition (darkness is the absence of light and evil is the absence of God. James
4:7 says, "Resist the devil
and he will flee from you." To defeat the enemy you must expose
the enemy. CS Lewis said that the devil's greatest trick was to convince
mankind that he didn't exist. Do you believe that the devil is real?
According to Romans
1:18, "For the wrath of God
is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who
hold the truth in unrighteousness.." God created all men and
women with a "God microchip" imbedded into each person's hard-wiring
(so to speak). For since the creation of
the world, His eternal power and divine nature are clearly seen by them that
have been made so that they are without excuse. Justice will be done,
just not yet but it is coming. God is Sovereign overall. It is appointed for all men once to
die and then comes the judgment. The wheels of justice grind slowly
but they grind finely. Someday soon, everyone shall have to give an
account of their life to Jesus Christ.
We're not here to
judge. But, we are fruit (as in Fruit of the Spirit) inspectors. Only God
is the righteous judge. The people he created did not honor Him but they became futile in their expectations and
their foolish hearts were darkened. According to 2 Timothy 2, the Lord's
bond-slave must not be quarrelsome. Therefore refuse foolish
speculations. Non-Christians don't need to be convinced of their
error. They just need the good news of the gospel of salvation, which they
have not heard and/or do not understand. They don't need to be convicted
of sin that they do, however, need to be convicted by the Savior from sin. They
need salvation via the only Savior of the World, Christ the Redeemer.
