Finding God in the Aftermath of Crisis – Part 2

Psalm 2:1-6 Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”

Continuing from yesterday’s message, Pastor Kyle directed us to do whatever it takes to let go of any thing that God wants us to get rid of in our life. The first and right response is to look inwardly, confess our sin and begin the process of transformational change. (2) We need to keep in mind that God’s justice and judgment come as a package deal. Remember that if you plan on judgment upon others, judgment is included for you also. There are times when the issue is not sin, but a tragic circumstance (as an act of God) that throws us into crisis. In such instances, we need to lean upon the Lord as our stronghold. Thinking too small must stop.

Isaiah 61:1-4 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.”

(3) Remember that forgiveness is God’s preferred method of operation. Fear not and rejoice in the Lord. God logs to forgive and be gracious because love and mercy are His natural attributes. God pours out His Holy Spirit unto salvation. (4) Hold onto hope that God loves to turn repentance into restoration and turn judgment into blessing. The Lord, our God, is our provision. Turn self-inflicted sin into God-inflected love, joy and peace. When we are locked up in the mental state of fear, then we are in survival mode, when dreams of opportunity and a future are suppressed. Realize that when we are stuck in fear, we all need to repent and give the issue to God. Get a glimpse of Almighty God andbe restored to open eyes that truly see and live in God’s glory. That is who He wants us to be.

Joel 2:12-13, 28-30a “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm. “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My Maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth.”

In Christ, Brian
