Seek & Save

Luke 19:5-10 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Like the World War 2 American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the battle of Okinawa, seeking and many lives, the Christian has the duty to seek and save the lost and dying in sin, who do not know the Great Physician, by speaking the truth in love for immediate treating and presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ as binding the wounds in caring and loving that provides life-support to lead them to regenerating heart surgery, healing and restoration at the foot of the Cross ... saved from certain death to new life eternal in Christ.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,  even to the end of the age.” Amen.

It’s a “fallen world” this side of Heaven and the Lord calls His people, not to watch their fellow man perish, but to get into the battle and save the injured and lost for Christ’s sake. The mis-directed and distracted goals based in existentialism, self-actualization, pleasure, power and position-seeking in our culture has led to the chaotic  pursuit  that has lost sight of God and the associated love, joy, happiness and peace that all need, but found only in the saving faith of Salvation by the Great Physician Jesus Christ. Lives are being lost, so get into the war that wages daily in our world today. The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost. We have been commission to do the same.

In Christ, Brian
