Matthew
6:31-33 “So don’t worry
about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we
wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your
heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above
all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
I
was listening to my new Compact Disk in the truck on the drive home from work
and the lyrics of a few songs caught my ear. (1) “Put God first, just to live
your life.” (2) “Make more time for prayer and the Man upstairs cause I believe
we can move any mountain when we're good.” (3) “That Sunday morning choir
calling, church doors open wide. That hallelujah, shoot right through ya, make
you feel alive.” These are all great lines of truth from Country music
recording artists Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line. The
world system will tell you that we need to live for yourself and live in the moment.
This empty lie of the enemy designed to feed the greedy flesh desires and take
our eyes off of the source of true love and joy in life found in putting God
first (our Creator Father), dig your roots in family (which God designed) second, worship, pray and fellowship with brothers and
sisters in the faith (our church family that Christ establish as the body) and then reflect Jesus Christ to your fellow mankind (who God created). This is the recipe for true and lasting happiness and contentment on earth. Be holy and put God first.
Matthew
22:36-38 “Teacher,
which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to
him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first
and great commandment.”
In
Christ, Brian
