The Key to Victory in Life

1 John 5:4 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

It’s natural that everyone desires to be successful and a winner in life. Self-help books, tapes and videos abound, yet Christian writer Jerry Newcombe states that as we look around in this world today, we see there are many who seek victory but are losing and victims rather than conquerors. There are many who fall vastly short of any and all hopes they had for life.

What is the secret to victory in life? Education, say some, is the great key that unlocks all the doors of success. Others say that the key is a positive attitude; what is really needed is a (PMA) Positive Mental Attitude. I’ve read that the secret to victory in life is “Organization’ – a good Day-planner and a place for everything with everything in its place. Still others state that the path to victory is mastering the secret of love over fear, and with that, the whole world will fall into place. Newcombe points out that yet another will say what is needed is “meditation”. Just sit cross-legged on the floor with your hands on your knees, close your eyes in silence and soon life will be a bowl full of cherries.

Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”

The opening verse also says that there is a key to victory in life. It talks about a key that inevitably brings triumph: the key of faith. It is the victory that overcomes the world, declares the Apostle John. Yet, how can we rejoice when we are beset all around with trials, problems, troubles and evils of every sort, which threaten to overwhelm us? It is only because we know that if and when they finally hit, they will be transformed by God. We can rest in that confidence, and thus faith changes all things in a magnificent way.

Romans 8:28  “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” -

God promises that no evil can overcome those who believe in Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that we can rejoice at all times. Why? Because God has promised to change everything that comes to us for our own good. So, thanks to Him, whatever we face, we can face it with confidence. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
Faith is the key to victory in life.

In Christ, Brian
