Mark
5:25-29 Now
a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered
many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no
better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came
behind Him in the
crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His
clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain
of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
This last Sunday, guest
Pastor Chris Gilbert continued in our sermon series about “Miracles”. Pastor
Christ was in the area receiving treatments for his diagnose cancer and met
pastor Kyle through their wives internet Bible Study group. In his message titled
“It’s all a setup”, pastor challenged us with a question; “Do we do the same
thing every day or should we take a risk?” In the opening verse, this woman had
spent all that she had to try and stop her physical wound to no remedy of her
issue. Yet, she believed in unwavering faith that if she could just touch the
hem of his garment, she would be made well … by the Great Physician Christ. So
she took a risk.
Mark 5:31-34 “You see
the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who
touched me?’ ” But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then
the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and,
trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter,
your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your
suffering.”
Pastor Chris gave us
four things to know about our miracle of healing. (1) It will call to you. It
will come looking for you. (2) Chasing it will test you. Far too many times
when God shows us what can be ours, we give up. Our walking in miracle faith
power is God’s goal. If we picked up the Lord’s plan and practice, how many
would be reached and our culture changed. (3) Jesus makes it accessible to us. The
Lord is making miracles possible. It is God’s will to bless us. If I can just
touch Jesus, I’ll be healed! We must be totally for our God and His purposes.
(4) It was set up a long time ago. Know that only God can do this and under the
protective covering of God, what can come against us? Satan cannot have us. Pray
like there is no tomorrow.
In Christ, Brian

Amen Brian, there are true miracles of healing that still take place today, the charlatans are out there, true, but that still doesn't make God's true miracle working power untrue. In His time and to His glory, building strength and faith in us is what He does. :) Great post!
Thank you Susan for the great comments. This sermon series by our Pastors was first hesitant because of the subject of the "supernatural" miracle work of God in a "natural" (physical) world. Yet, that is exactly what we have in God and have no need to withhold the truth from a world that so desperately needs the Savior & Lord. It is the truth that sets you free and light that allows us to see and walk ... by faith. We can be confident in that! Praise be to God.
