Corinthians 2:6-7 “Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it
is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to
pass away. But we
impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for
our glory.”
Continuing with Pastor Kyle’s sermon last Sunday from the Book of James,
he listed 5 fruits of wisdom from God. (1) This wisdom is peaceable and gentle.
We all really do need to be reconcilers for the kingdom of heaven, not guard
dogs of the kingdom. Be peacemakers while things fall apart all around us using
the peace of Christ that passes all understanding, because Jesus is the “Prince
of Peace”, so that we make peace in and around us. (2) This wisdom from heaven
is open to reason. We listen to other perspectives while standing firm on the
Word of God. Be open to discuss issues as an Ambassador for Christ and willing
to adjust to the culture without compromising your faith in order to open doors
to the gospel. When in Rome ,
don’t do as the Romans do, but reach the Romans for Jesus. (3) This wisdom of
God is full of mercy. One attribute of God is that He is merciful in nature. Who
can you confide in comfortably because wisdom embodies them by their love,
mercy and grace without judgment … this is rare. Be one. (4) This wisdom from
above produces fruit in season. Ideas without fruit are fruitless. Our wise
walk with the Lord should lead to a season where fruit is produced. Fruit is
going to look different in different seasons. For example: Every marriage has
and goes through seasons, but each season should bear good fruit.
Galatians
5:22-23 “But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there
is no law.”
Wisely ask God, What fruit should I be producing in my life?” James
1:5 “If any of
you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without
reproach, and it will be given him.” Be fruitful. (5) This
godly wisdom brings a harvest of righteousness, producing a “right”
relationship with our Lord God through the Holy Spirit’s guidance and leading.
Is there an area where we can wisely improve? Our learning, maturing, and
growing into the likeness of Christ occurs daily in our walk with the Lord this
side of eternity. Do your part, so that He can do His part. We need His wisdom
from above.
Job
12:13 “With God are wisdom and might; he has
counsel and understanding.”
Psalm
51:6 “Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in
the secret heart.”
In Christ, Brian
