Unknown Blessings

I remember hearing that not only do we need to thanks God for the many blessings in life that He has giving us and is going to bring into our lives, already on their way, but also for the bad things that He protects us from that we never end up seeing in our life because stopped them all before they could get here. These are unknown blessings too. Praise the Lord.

When we pray at dinner time, our family almost always includes, "And thank You, God, for the blessings of which we are unaware."

It's so true. I'm thankful for the raindrop blessings from the storms of life. How else would I learn to fully rely on Him?

Excellent point Larri and I'm so happy that your family catches the right perspective that it is God who provides, but also protects. I think that I first caught this "blessings unaware" aspect of the Christian life with the "hedge of protection" in Job 1:8-10 "Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. Every angle that we look at our Heavenly Father, we is love and care of His children. How comforting is that?! Thank you for writing this great comment Larri. Blessings.
