Psalm 19:1-4 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and
the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto
night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language
where their voice is not
heard. Their
line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the
world.”
Our
church’s mid-week topical Bible Study series on Focus on the Family’s “The
Truth Project” enters Lesson Seven, which is covering God’s Harmonious Systems
and arranged Social Order. Romans
1:19-20 says, “What
may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the
creation of the world His invisible attributes are
clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and
Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” I heard famous English ethologist
and evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins answer the question by Ben Stein in
the movie “Expelled”: “What if, after you died, you ran into God and He said
what have you been doing; I’ve been nice to you and look what you did?” , which
was “Sir, Why did you take such pains to hide yourself?” The “finite” wants to
see the “infinite”, yet doesn’t see the clear attributes of God, though
invisible Spirit, in the unmistakable intelligent design of the cosmos, the
irreducible complexity of natural systems and components, the beauty and
intricacy, orchestration and harmony of life that is impossible by time and
chance. Ignoring the facts and proofs of creation in design, information and
order clearly seen in nature and the universe demonstrates unbelief, not
science, because their worldview starts with “no God”.
Job 12:7-8 “But now ask the beasts, and they will teach
you; and the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth, and
it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you.
Dr. Del
Tackett explains that the above Bible verse tells us to study the complex
anatomy and unexplainable instincts of the animal kingdom, not just for the
question of the origin of life, but to see the fingerprints of God in His incredible
design and order of His Creation; not random chance by godless evolution
processes. He gave the example of the Chicken Egg with its shell that has over
10,000 pores to allow oxygen in and carbon dioxide out, with four vessels from
the developing chick (2 attach to the yolk for food and 2 attached to the outer
membranes to breathe), with the air sack at one end to give the fully-developed
chick 6 hours of air to break a hole in the shell with a special “egg tooth” on
the beak. But the design and order go much further in the architectural development
of the chick. Please, if you can, purchase a copy of the DVD titled “Flight –
the genius of birds” @ http://illustramedia.com/ and see the actual
filmed stages of the chicken from egg to chick and be amazed at life. You will also see the
unique structure of the bones and feathers of this blessed creature that shouts of intelligent design and conducted order. See the unexplainable complexity of
the Hummingbird and the seemingly impossible navigation skills of the Arctic Terns,
who migrate from the North Pole to the South Pole and back to the same nesting
areas annually. Explain that without God. I challenge you to watch this documentary
titled “Flight” to see and hear the birds tell you about their Divine and
Sovereign Creator in unmistakable design and order with great glory. The truth is manifest, shown and clearly seen in creation.
1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion but of
peace.”
The Atom, cellular system, skeletal system, circulatory system, photosynthesis, coral reefs, metamorphosis, pollination, water cycles, lunar tides, the solar system and tot he countless systems in between ... all are in perfect harmony, perfect order, and in perfect relationships, both within the system itself and in relationship to the systems around it. Random, purposelessness, mindless forces should produce a
random, purposeless, mindless cosmos, but that is not what we have. What we
have is the design and order of Creator God.
In Christ, Brian
