Isaiah
42:5 “God,
the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the
earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone
who walks the earth.”
Continuing Focus on the Family’s “Truth Project” study on the
battle over Science, hosted by Dr. Del Tackett, I just want to say that the
series took two weeks to present this lesson and I have been posting daily on
these sessions because some of the greatest lies, half truths and deceptions
come from the “creation verses evolution” debate and are negatively affecting
our society greatly. Atheistic secular humanism’s survival of the fittest
through natural selection in a “dog eat dog” world is exactly what we are
seeing today. My wife says that she doesn’t need all the scientific facts and
figures to believe in God, (agreed) but the facts and figures stand to defend the
attacks against faith in God by “fallen” man that desire to eliminate their
Creator and silence or punish Believers in God. I know that it is a heavy subject, but
presenting foundational truth of God and His holy Word builds our testimony and
witness to that truth. That is my goal here.
Malachi 2:10 “Are we not all
children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why
do we betray each other?”
American philosopher, educator, and author
David Berlinski (1942-present) stated;
“The claim that all skeptics about
Darwinian orthodoxy are Christian fundamentalists stands refuted … it is
obviously not true; I am neither Christian nor a fundamentalist. But lots of
people are skeptical in the scientific community. I know dozens of
mathematicians who scratch their heads and say you guys think this is the way
life originated? Absolutely a preposterous theory, and many, many very
significant figures … great mathematicians of the 20th century laugh
at Darwinian Theory; they hoot at it. So it is perfectly absurd. This is the
point in a polemical dispute … that is not a reason of criticism. There is a consistent
group of people among mathematicians, among physicists, among some very good speculative
biologists who simple don’t accept it … don’t even regard it as a scientific
theory in any reasonable sense.” Mankind tends to see their own position,
meaning that they don’t see what they want to. The heavens declare the truth of
God, not an empty box.
Psalm
148:5-6 “Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for
he issued his command, and they came into being. He
set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked.”
was an English clergyman, Christian apologist,
philosopher, and utilitarian William
Paley (1743-1805), best known for his natural theology exposition of the
teleological argument for the existence of God, argued for intelligent design
in nature referred to as the “watchmaker analogy”. Paley stated that it is plain to see that the
parts in a watch are designed and placed in relationship with each other for a
purpose and that the watch therefore must have a maker. In the same way, our
universe bears evidence of design and purpose and, therefore, must have a
maker. In opposition, English
ethologist, evolutionary
biologist Richard Dawkin stated: “ Natural selection, the blind, unconscious,
automatic process which Darwin
discovered, and which we now know is the explanation for the existence and
apparently purposeful form of all life has no purpose in mind. It has no mind and no mind’s eye. It does not
plan for the future. It has no vision, no foresight, no sight at all. If it can
be said to play the role of the watchmaker in nature, it is a blind watchmaker.”
He is essentially saying: “I know it looks designs, but it wasn’t. What would
you expect someone who rejects God and lives “inside the box” of materialism
and unbelief?
English molecular biologist, biophysicist,
and neuroscientist Francis Harry
Compton Crick, (1916-2004), most noted for being a co-discoverer of the
structure of the DNA molecule in 1953 stated: “Biologist must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not
designed, but rather evolved.” Evidence
says design, yet we shut ourselves off from anything “outside the box”. We must
recognize design as reality. Evidence of design is “plain” to us. Why do we turn a blind eye to design. Charles
Darwin stated: “I remember well the time when the thought of the eye made me
cold all over, but I have got over this stage of the compliant, and now small trifling
particulars of structure often make me very uncomfortable. The sight of a
feather in a peacock’s tail, whenever I gaze at it, makes me sick!” Why did a

Romans 1:20, 25 “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and
sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible
qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not
knowing God. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they
worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who
is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
Macro-evolution
is a fact or an excuse to reject the Creator of heaven and earth? More to come,
