Playing Their Own Tune

Hosea 4:6-7 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. “The more they increased, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame.”

Have you ever herd anyone say that America was not a Christian nation? The history of this nation proves otherwise, as evidenced by the writings of our Founding Fathers and the US Supreme Court Trinity Decision of 1892. How else would our national motto be “In God We Trust”, printed on every coin and currency? That does not stop secular atheist from claiming otherwise and trying to rewrite this country’s history. It’s not the Christians that are the radical extremist. Why the attack? Because the doctrine of hell is not good tidings to those who are destined to eternal destruction by their rebellious unbelief of God. They cannot stand the thought of anyone, let alone themselves, being in hell. The true gospel message, held by the evangelical, is the essence of Christianity; the sinner needing salvation through the Redeemer Lord. Jesus Christ has fully satisfied the justice of God for us. But one must believe God, repent of sin, and accept Christ as Lord and Savior to receive the free gift of salvation and eternal life.

Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”

I was listening to Christian radio the other day and heard American Evangelical Historian David Barton state that there is a growing trend of young American studying these writings for proper application and true interpretation of the original intent of the United States Constitution, because the truth has not been taught in their schooling, for social engineering away from our Christian foundation. But people are realizing that they are being lied to and truth is being withheld from them. Theologian and apologist Norman Geisler stated that the decline in the knowledge of God over the past sixty years has lead to “relativism” with a philosophy that there are no absolutes, “pluralism” with a philosophy that there is more than one kind of ultimate reality, and “naturalism” with a philosophy that scientific laws account for all phenomena and all we know is what we perceive through our physical senses in our culture. These philosophies distract people from the true knowledge of God and His plan of salvation for mankind through Christ, His Son. No knowledge of God and His Holy attributes means no salvation because salvation comes by God alone. Can you put your full trust in someone that you do not really know? No pseudo gospel, without a suffering cross, without sin, without wrath deserved, will drive the unregenerate to the Savior. If you do not understand the true gospel, the new creation through the new covenant for eternal life to those who believe, then you cannot share it to others.

Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.”

God is the composer and Jesus Christ is the Conductor, who sets the score of the symphony and directs the harmony, of a life that glorifies God. The question is: “Is everybody playing their own tune”?
