National Back to Church Day 2012

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

God reconciled the world to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. We all have our personal story of what the Lord has done in our life. There is no reason to be reticence about the gospel of Salvation in a world looking for answers. An easy way to reach out to those around us who do not know the Lord is to invite them to church with you. It just so happens that September 16, 2012 was “National Back to Church Day”. But every week is a good for inviting someone to your church. Why not ask a friend, a loved one, a neighbor, or a co-worker to go with you to your local church next week. Love and Forgiveness are blessings to share.

"82% of the unchurched are at least somewhat likely to attend church if invited"–Dr. Thom Rainer
