Psalm
92:13-15 “Those who are planted
in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear
fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that
the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him”
Monday, July 30, 2012, my wife’s mother Shirley (83
years young) had a major back surgery procedure performed due to an advanced Scoliosis
condition that, not only was tremendously painful daily, but if not corrected
would become life-threatening. The curvature of her spine was so severe that
her organs were being pushed to one side and the doctors estimated an eleven
hour surgery would be required, with 16 pints of blood used. The surgery ended
when they ran dangerously short of reserve blood, so the corrective procedure
was not completed. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit recovering from
the operation and associated complication, and is rescheduled to undergo the
remainder of the corrective surgery in six weeks, when she has gains strength
and well enough to handle the second procedure. The main portion of the Scoliosis
has been straightened, and the remaining work shall be much quicker and less
life threatening. Her daughter has set up a Journal page for Shirley @ http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/shirleylowe
that you can check her condition. The main thing is that she needs your
intercession prayer. Your prayers are a blessing and much appreciated. Praise
the Lord for such a loving godly woman.
Proverbs 20:29 “The glory of the young is their strength; the gray hair of
experience is the splendor of the old.”

Hi Brian,
I will be praying for your mother in law, Shirley.
May I have permission to put this prayer request up on my blog or do I need permission from your sister in law?
Praying,
<><
Child of God. You surely have my permission to add Shirley to your Blog for prayers. Reading the Journal for Shirley, my sister-in-law says that she appreciates the prayers and messages. Can there ever be too many prayers for the elderly, injured or ill? The more intercession of prayer, the better. Sounds like Shirley is honored to receive the messages of encouragement and prayers of healing. You might write her the journal site also. Thank you for your prayers and cares.
Praying Psalm 91 for your MIL, Brian! Will share your request w/my tweet prayer partners.
Thank you Larri. The Lord instructs us in Scripture to "Respect our elders" as we respect and show respect to our Heavenly Father. What a great asset our godly parents and grand-parents are, not only in raising us with unconditional love, but in given us the wisdom and knowledge of their years of knowledge in the "school of hard knocks", called life, so we don't have to re-invent the wheel or feel the pains of discovery unnecessarily. Not to mention the true love and care of family as God intended. Shirley has been called "the tough old dog" because she is a fighter. But every fighter needs a good "corner" behind them between rounds of this bout and in the fight itself. I appreciate your sharing Shirley with your tweet prayer partners. We need everyone that we can in her corner.
