Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that
which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Though we live in
a “fallen” world, God has given mankind a mind to seek Him and His truth.
Romans 1:18-19 says: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress
the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because
God has shown it to them.” God is plain to see in this world, which He
created, when you seek Him with all your heart – Jeremiah 29:13. But we could
have a physical heart transplant and the darkness and sin of unbelief which
suppresses the truth and the will of God remains because the spiritual heart
must be transformed by the miraculous world of the Holy Spirit in the renewing
of your mind; not from the outside in, but from the inside out.
In Mark
12:30, Jesus said: “You shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all
your mind, and with all your strength.” The word “heart” here is kardia in
the Greek, meaning heart feelings. The word “mind” is dianioa, meaning mind
thoughts. It is with our mind that we think and reason, seek and make choices …
choices for or against the abundant life of love, contentment & peace by
faith in Jesus Christ alone - (John
10:10) and the sharing of His joy with us, that our joy may be full – John 15:11.
The late Pastor
Adrian Rogers wrote: “Jesus is still in the miracle working business. His
business is the business of transformation. And when we believe that Jesus is
the Christ, we will receive life through His name. Someone has well said that
nature forms us, sin deforms us, penitentiary reforms us, education informs us,
the world conforms us, but only Jesus transforms us.” 1 Peter 2:8-10 explains, “They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they
also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the
praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had
not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. By the renewing of our minds, the
renovation and renewal by the transforming metamorphosis in the regeneration of
our spirit of the Believer, the Child of God can seek and love their Creator,
Protector, Provider & Savior God with all their mind, to prove what the will of God is, that which
is good and acceptable and perfect.
Hebrews 8:10 “ For this is the
covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares
the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on
their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Hi Brian,
I love this picture! The beautiful mountain flowers, these, besides the rose, are my favourite.
Some people think they have to change before they come to Christ, but that is not so! Just like you pointed out, we come as we are, it is Him who changes us. He sets us free it is not through our doing but His.
This is such awesome news and gives lots of hope for those who are really stuck in sin.
Blessings brother,

Child of God, I like your key word "hope". James 1:14-15(NKJV) says: "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death." People tend to take their Creator God lightly (the first four of the Ten Commandments of God bring this to light) and we under-estimate or not know the seriousness of Sin (what sin is, what our Just & Holy God thinks of sin, the consequences of sin to us or our inability to pay for those sins in our life that originate in our fallen mind). This realization renews the mind and leads the Sinner to the Savior that God provides sure hope of heaven in forgiveness and redemptive salvation in Jesus alone by His atoning sacrifice for us on the Cross. This is the awesome news that we rejoice and give thanks daily for.
I've heard that God comes down and meets us wherever we are at, but He does not leave us where we are at. The Christian discipleship walk of learning from the Lord for application in our lives, maturing to put God's Word, Will & Way into our daily practice and growing into the likeness of Christ and His light in living out our profession of faith in action begins and never stops from that point.
Ephesians 4:21-24(NLT)puts it this way: "Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. It is amazing to take it all in. What a blessing! Thank you for writing and bringing out this wonder point.
Also, my dad has called those beautiful flowers "Mountain Lupus". They grow in the area around his house int he Sierra Nevada Mountains of California (by Yosemite National Park). God's creation in nature is gorgeous.
