Say a Prayer for Nicole

1 Peter 3:11-12 He must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer .

Yesterday, I received a shocking call from my niece Natalie, that her sister Nicole had been involved in a serious accident. Just the day before, she had moved some of her furniture and belongings from Kingman, Arizona 150 miles to Flagstaff, Arizona to begin to upcoming semester at Northern Arizona University in pursuit of becoming a Veterinarian. Her boyfriend was driving her in the 100 plus degree desert heat to take the last final things for her new apartment when the accident occurred. The details are not complete to me as yet, but just outside Kingman, the vehicle experienced a blown-out rear tire and the driver lost control on the highway. The car flipped and rounded, ejecting Nicole from the vehicle and she had to be Medi-Vac airlifted from the scene to a hospital in Flagstaff. I received a report from my brother, as they were en route to Flagstaff that she was in emergency surgery for a broken pelvis, broken collar bone, ruptured spleen and bleeding on the brain. As you can imagine, Nicole and the whole family is in need of your prayers. You prayers are appreciated and cherished. We know that she is in the hands of the "Great physician" now, and ask that the Lord guide the hands and decisions of the doctors and nurses in Nicole's care.

Thank you for your intercessory prayers.

In Christ, Brian

Thank you for the prayers. What a bleesing they are to us! After two surgeries, so far, they repaired the Spleen & the cuts to her head and stopped the bleeding in the brain. She is off the resporator and she regained conscienciousness and spoke, but is still in critical condition. There is extensive skin abrasion, plus they have not address the badly broken pelvis or shoulder yet. More surgeries to come, but progress is happening. It's is, and will continue to be, a tough road for her and the family. Thank you all.

Thank you, we also have a prayer group of 168 people saying prayers that she has a full recovery. She now has eyes open and hopefully the breathing tube will be removed today. Sh eis still in serious condition but brain scan came out positive , no more bleeding, we pray. lots of other injuries, Spline removed, Pelvis and collarbone broke, etc..

One message here for all, wear your seat belts, always, even if sleeping in passenger seat. A front blow out tire can happen anytime even on the car next to you.

Natalie Todd is on face book, if you want to reach them there..Type in face book , if you are a member and send a note (poke) to her.

Before driving down to Missouri from Iowa, my brother Steve updated me that Nicole has been upgraded from "critical" to "serious" condition and moved out of the Intensive Care Unit. He has driven to Flagstaff, Arizona today to be with her as friends are helping him move her furniture, since she is going to miss this semester of College in recovery and rehabilitation for months. He is talking to the doctors today to receive a report on her complete condition, since he is hearing conflicting reports from different people. The pelvis injury may be less serious than originally reported, but the broken collar bone is now a reconstructive shoulder surgery scheduled for Monday. There will be a re-evaluation of her condition at that time. Steve (Nicole's dad) has talked to her, but she can not answer clearly yet, due to the facial and head injuries.

Thank you for your prayers. I'll be home Sunday.

Nicole is home! After her shoulder surgery on Wednesday, the hospital in Flagstaff released her to go home, to Kingman, Arizona to rest and recover. Being an unemployed 20 yr. old student, she had no money and no insurance, so covered under Medic-aid. She is recooperating in her old room, under the care of her father, brother and sister at her dad's home, and goes back to Flagstaff in a week to be checked by the physicians. She is in great pain from the injuries and associated surgeries, but the road to getting back to health, to college and her dreams have taken the next step, and she is drenched in the blessed prayers of so many. Thank yu again for all your cherished prayers for Nicole and the family.
